Shaping the Enculturation of Cities

Chen Sen

Abstract

Executive frameworks are the channels through which urban design practices develop into real life projects. The article deals with a complex question and makes an attempt to find out whether they have a direct impact on attempts to cultivate cities. The first objective of the article is to identify the various causes of inefficiency that may impede the process of culturalisation of cities. Then, using developed criteria, we analysed and criticized practices addressing various aspects of urban design and found various causes of the inability of existing frameworks. Therefore, the paper concludes several considerations that can overcome the identified causes of the inability. Then, the paper applied them to practices that were originally analysed and criticised to demonstrate the validity of the proposed considerations.
